
Car Nicobar, July 8: The Central Livestock Farm (CLF), Arong, under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), organized a pig management training program in Car Nicobar, bringing together participants from various villages on July 4. The training focused on equipping farmers with essential knowledge and skills to enhance pig farming practices and support sustainable livelihoods in the region.
The program covered key aspects, including scientific farm layout, breeding management, feeding practices, first aid treatment, health management, and value addition in pork. These sessions were designed to promote efficient and sustainable pig farming techniques, enabling participants to improve productivity and contribute to the economic development of Car Nicobar.
The initiative reflects the AH&VS Department’s commitment to strengthening animal husbandry practices and fostering self-reliance among rural communities in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
