Sri Vijaya Puram, July 20: The Women and Child Development Control Room is functioning at VIP Road under the Directorate of Social Welfare. The WCD-CR conducted awareness program recently in the Conference Hall of Govt. Secondary School, South Point. The awareness promoted on Toll Free 24×7 Women Helpline-181 and Child Helpline 1098 for the student and teachers. The objective of the programme was to empower women and children to access the Helplines support whenever they need.
During the session, the staff of Women and Child Development, Control Room briefed about the key function of Women Helpline 181 and Child Helpline-1098, a dedicated emergency and support services of women and children across A&N Islands. The Call Operators highlighted about 24×7 hours Toll Free Helpline Numbers and services.
Further, children and teachers were urged to spread awareness among people regarding the Helpline Numbers. The event concluded with an interactive session.
