Sri Vijaya Puram, July 22: Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) is a flagship scheme of GoI administered by National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, GoI. It was launched on 27th September, 2021 to create a national digital health ecosystem, enabling seamless access to health records and improving healthcare delivery.
This flagship programme aims to create a digital health ecosystem that empowers individuals to access and manage their health records securely and efficiently through Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). The two other key components of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) are Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR). HFR is a verified, centralized database of all health facilities in India—including hospitals, clinics and labs ensuring transparency and enabling digital services like e-hospital records and tele-consultations. HPR, on the other hand, is a registry of licensed medical professionals such as doctors and nurses, capturing their qualifications, registration details, and place of practice.
Therefore, to raise awareness about ABDM at Educational Institutions and at Community level, the State Health Agency (Implementing agency of ABDM), A&N Islands has organized orientation–cum-awareness programmes at Gram Panchayat, Pokkadera, Mayabunder and Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Pokkadera, Mayabunder on 19th and 21st July, 2025 respectively.
Both the events were graced by Dr. Arnold Ashu (Anaesthetist) and Dr. Priyanka Iqbal (GDMO, Ayurveda) from Dr. R P Hospital, Mayabunder, N&M Andaman.
