
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 22: The Pencak Silat Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands has once again carved a golden chapter in the history of martial arts by delivering a spectacular performance at the 6th South Zone Pencak Silat Championship with a medal tally of 14 Gold, 14 Silver and 12 Bronze.
Out of a strong contingent of 41 participants, an astounding 40 returned with medals, showcasing the exceptional discipline, skill, and determination of the team. This record-breaking accomplishment stands as a testament to the consistent growth and impact of martial arts within the youths of our Union Territory.
From young prodigies as young as 5 years old to seasoned senior athletes, the team displayed unmatched dedication and sportsmanship. This remarkable success has not only brought pride to the Union Territory but also marked a new record at the South Zone level.
The team’s stellar performance was made possible under the able leadership and guidance of Shihan M.S. Murugan, President of PSAANI Mind and Fitness Master Trainer, Ex-Sub Inspector, A&N Police (IRBn) and Er. Logarjun M, National Coach, Senior player cum Young Dynamic Trainer.
Their unwavering commitment to excellence was strongly backed by the officials of the Pencak Silat Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the continuous encouragement of supportive parents, who played a crucial role in this historic journey.
This milestone once again proves the unstoppable spirit of our island warriors and highlights the emergence of Andaman & Nicobar as a powerful force in the field of martial arts on the regional stage.
