Director General of Police Inaugurates Hi-Tech Call Center for Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930

Sri Vijaya Puram, July 22: On 21.07.2025, the Andaman and Nicobar Police marked another landmark milestone in its ongoing mission to strengthen public safety and cyber vigilance with the inauguration of a Hi-Tech Center for the Cyber Crime Helpline – 1930, under the aegis of the Cyber Crime Police Station.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Director General of Police, Shri HGS Dhaliwal, IPS, and held in the esteemed presence of Smti. Sindhu Pillai, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Law & Order) and Smti. Geeta Rani Verma, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Security), at the Police Radio Complex, Marine Hill, Port Blair.

This state-of-the-art Call Center has been established with the vision of offering citizens a responsive, technology-enabled platform to swiftly report incidents of cybercrime, seek guidance, and ensure prompt redressal. Operated by a team of well-trained personnel and cybercrime investigators, the helpline will function as the first point of contact for victims of online fraud, financial scams, social media abuse, and other cyber offences.

Equipped with modern infrastructure and intelligent call-handling systems, the center will facilitate seamless coordination between the Cyber Crime Police Station and relevant national platforms to ensure timely intervention and case registration.

This initiative aligns with the Andaman and Nicobar Police’s proactive strategy of adapting to the evolving nature of crime in the digital era and reflects a strong commitment towards cybercrime prevention, digital awareness, and public trust.
