
Sri Vijaya Puram, July 23: As part of the District Administration’s ongoing efforts to safeguard government land and ensure its proper utilization, an encroachment drive was conducted today at Muslim Basti village under Ferrargunj Tehsil.
During the drive, encroachment in the form of illegal fencing and temporary sheds erected over 4000 square metres of land falling under government khata was identified and removed. The encroached area was promptly restored to its original status, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to protecting public land and preventing unauthorized occupation.
The drives were conducted peacefully with full coordination between Revenue officials, local police and enforcement staff and without any law-and-order disruptions.
The District Administration reiterates its firm commitment to act against illegal encroachments and appeals to the general public to refrain from occupying government land without proper authorization. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the District Administration in preserving public resources and maintaining the rule of law. The District Administration, South Andaman reiterates that such operations will continue unabated in all areas where illegal occupation is identified.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman cautioned the General Public that the District Administration has zero tolerance towards encroachment on government land and uphold the rule of law.
