Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 2: A&N Legal Services Authorities in collaboration with PRAYAS NGO, organized Legal Awareness Prog. on ‘POCSO Act and POSH Act’ at Nirmala Sr. Sec. School. The programme was graced by Shri Rashid Alam, Ld. Registrar, Calcutta High Court Circuit Bench at Port Blair -cum- Member Secretary, A&N SLSA, who explained the mechanisms to address workplace sexual harassment. Shri Niyaz Alam, Ld. Special Judge, POCSO Court, Port Blair, spoke on child safety, while Shri Samrat Roy, Ld. Chief judicial Magistrate -cum- Secretary, DLSA, A&N Islands highlighted drug abuse and rehabilitation. Shri Jayanto Mukherjee, JMFC-II -cum- Principal Magistrate, JJB, South Andaman discussed juvenile justice issues.
Students and teachers actively participated, making the sessions highly interactive and informative. The event concluded with a call to build a safe and aware society for women and children.
