Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 5: The meeting was held at the secretariat conference hall on 02.08.2025, chaired by Director (Power) Mr. Pravesh Jha (DANICS) regarding the issue of power shortage and demand side management. The meeting was attended by officers of the electricity department, members of the chambers, and members of the hotel association.
The Director informed that the shortage would continue till the next three months and requested support of cooperation from the trade by implementing the following:
1) All hotels/restaurants will have to run on their own generators between 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
3) All commercial establishments/offices should shut down by 6 p.m. and shops/markets by 7.30 p.m.
The Andaman Nicobar Chamber of Commerce & Industry has appealed to all members & business houses, and commercial establishments to extend cooperation as requested by the Administration.
