
Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 12: In a significant step toward promoting green mobility, a new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station was inaugurated today at VSI Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram. The facility was officially opened in the presence of the Airport Director, alongside airport officials.
Strategically located within the airport premises, the EV charging station is aimed at serving passengers, airport staff, and the general public, contributing to the broader mission of reducing carbon emissions and supporting eco-friendly transportation infrastructure in the region. The EV charging station ensures seamless payment gateway and can typically charge an Electric Vehicle from empty to full in about 01 hour under ideal conditions.
Speaking at the event, the Airport Director Sh. Devender Yadav said, “This initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and innovation. As the demand for electric vehicles grows, it is vital that we provide the infrastructure needed to support this transformation. We are proud to take this step forward at VSI Airport.”
The new facility is part of a larger effort to promote electric mobility across Sri Vijaya Puram and enhance convenience for EV users traveling to and from the airport. Equipped with modern fast-charging capabilities, the station ensures minimal downtime for users and efficient services.
This initiative is expected to encourage greater EV adoption in the area while reinforcing VSI Airport’s role as a progressive and environmentally conscious transport hub.
