Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 21: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), Government of India, has recognized the outstanding contributions of Pradhans of the Union Territory of A&N Islands during a special felicitation ceremony held on 14th August, 2025, on the eve of Independence Day ceremony 2025.
Shri T. Yaghambaram, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Calicut, and Smti Pratima Roy, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Nabagram, were felicitated for their exemplary leadership and significant contributions towards the holistic development of their respective Gram Panchayats.
The awards were presented by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, during a prestigious ceremony organized by the Ministry at the Airport Authority of India Officers’ Institute, New Delhi, on 14th August, 2025.
This recognition highlights the commitment of PRI leaders from the Islands in driving community-led development, women-led governance, and strengthening democratic values at the grassroots level.
The Directorate of RD, PRIs and ULBs has congratulated both awardees for their national recognition and appreciated their continued dedication to the upliftment of rural communities.
