Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug. 25: It is for the information of all ration card holders registered in this UT that in compliance to the Targeted Public Distribution System Amendment Order, 2005 made by the Govt. of India implemented with immediate effect by the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and initiated the process of e-KYC which is mandatory to be done in every five years. No members shall be eligible to hold a separate ration card before attaining the age of eighteen years, Aadhaar number shall be captured for children below five years of age and e-KYC shall be performed for children to be updated within one year after turning five years.
The State Government shall temporarily disable ration cards of beneficiaries who haven’t availed their entitled benefits during the last six months as well as those beneficiaries who have been identified as duplicate within or outside the State/UT. Such disabled ration cards will be given a window of three months to revalidate or prove their eligibility by providing documents and e-KYC for activation.
This is in compliance to the aforementioned amendment notification 2025 issued by the Govt. of India.
