
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 4: A Total Lunar Eclipse – a rare celestial event shall be going to occur on 7th September, 2025. The above event shall be visible from Sri Vijaya Puram alongwith rest of the country. The total lunar eclipse is also commonly known as “Blood Moon” which is caused when the sunlight first travel to earth’s atmosphere which scatters short wavelength of blue light and allow longer red wavelength to pass and reach to the moon giving it a beautiful crimson color. According to the astrological ephemerides, in A&N Islands the eclipse shall start at Sri Vijaya Puram from 8.58 pm & shall end at 2.25 am which will be completely safe to view with naked eye.
To mark this occasion, the Science Centre, Sri Vijay Puram shall be organizing a multimedia presentation followed by a special programme on live viewing of eclipse through a powerful telescope for the students & general visitor on 7th September, 2025 from 9.30 pm to 12.30 am, next day. This programme aims to give opportunity and draw curiosity of general public especially students and sky lovers to witness this rare cosmic event. The above event will be organized subject to the weather conditions.
