
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 5: Youth Congress leader Ms Bindiya Banerjee from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands has now been appointed as the Secretary, Indian Youth Congress. Ms. Banerjee is the first from A&N Islands to be appointed as the Secretary of Indian Youth Congress. The appointment was approved in July end when the Congress President had approved the proposal for the appointment of National Office Bearers of Indian Youth Congress.
Hailing from the A&N Islands, Bindiya had started her career in Politics at a very early age. Learning politics from her seniors and fellow youth leaders Bindiya soon rose to the position of State General Secretary, Youth Congress, A&N Islands Youth Congress. She was also elected as the State Vice President of Youth Congress twice before becoming the State Chief Coordinator of Jawahar Bal Manch and then a National Coordinator.
Apart from the above, Ms Banerjee during her political journey had completed the full Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and participated in the Election process of different states in India Viz. Karnataka Assembly Election, Chattisgarh Assembly Election, Rajasthan Assembly Election, Chattisgarh Loksabha Election, Raibareli Loksabha Election, Kutlehar Assembly Election (Himachal Pradesh), Ballabgarh Assembly Election (Haryana), South Mumbai Lok Sabha and also the ongoing Bihar Assembly Election.
