State Hub for Empowerment of Women Organises Awareness Program on SHE Box & POSH Act

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 9: As part of the 10 days special awareness campaign, the State Hub for Empowerment of Women, Directorate of Social Welfare organized two awareness programs. An awareness program on SHE Box & POSH Act was organized yesterday at Anganwadi Centre, Rajaji Nagar, Garacharma. The program was attended by 43 participants during which Smt. Jessy George (Mukhya Sevika), ICDS Urban Project addressed the participants.

The second program was organized today, near JNRM College to encourage women to take up higher education. The program was attended by 98 participants wherein it was communicated that education plays a vital role in empowering women, as it equips them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions about their lives.

During both the awareness programs, Smti. Hemlatha and Smti. Deepa Laxmi (Gender Specialist, SHEW) stated that Women empowerment is crucial for the social, economic, and cultural development of any society; and for empowerment women must be aware of their rights & responsibilities towards our nation. For this purpose, the State Hub for Empowerment of Women is consistently organizing programs so that all women can be benefitted by the welfare schemes.
