Re-KYC and Jan Suraksha Campaign Camp Organised at Khaitan Kalyana Mandapam

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 11: A Re-KYC and Jan Suraksha Campaign Camp was organized today at Khaitan Kalyana Mandapam, Junglighat, by Union Territory Level Banker’ Committee (UTLBC), State Bank of India, A&N Islands covering all bank branches of the Prothrapur Block. The objective of the program was to create awareness among customers regarding the importance of Re-KYC updation and to extend the benefits of Social Security Schemes under the Jan Suraksha umbrella – Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).

The program was graced by Shri Sudhanshu Prasad, Regional Director, RBI, Kolkata, as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Shri Sanatan Mishra, UTLBC Convener and General Manager, SBI, Shri Sanjay Kumar Tiwari, General Manager, Bank of Baroda, and Shri Aziz-ur-Rahman, Councilor, SVPMC, along with Divisional Managers and Regional Heads of various banks.

In their addresses, Shri Sudhanshu Prasad, Shri Sanatan Mishra, Shri Aziz-ur-Rahman, and Shri Sanjay Kumar Tiwari highlighted the significance of KYC updation and social security schemes in strengthening financial inclusion. The Regional Director, RBI instructed all banks to complete the Re-KYC exercise within this week to ensure uninterrupted banking services for customers and create greater awareness on cyber fraud prevention and strengthen customer protection mechanisms. He also advised to educate customers regarding the role and accessibility of the Banking Ombudsman for grievance redressal.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from customers, with dedicated facilitation counters set up by different banks for on-the-spot Re-KYC updation and Jan Suraksha enrollments. Bank officials also interacted with customers and clarified queries on financial products, social security schemes, and safe banking practices.

The event concluded with vote of thanks by Shri Ravisankar K, Chief Manager.
