Rotary Club Nextgen Port Blair Supports Education of 12 Girls from Balika Niketan on International Literacy Day

Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 11: On the occasion of International Literacy Day, the Rotary Club Nextgen Port Blair took a meaningful step towards empowering young girls through education by sponsoring the school fees of 11 girls and the college fee of 1 girl from Balika Niketan, a home for underprivileged girls in Port Blair.

The formal handover of the fees was conducted at Balika Niketan, where Club President Rtn. Mandeep Grewal, along with other dedicated club members, personally handed over the support to the institution’s in-charge and team. This gesture reinforces the Rotary Club’s commitment to furthering the cause of literacy and equal opportunity for all, especially for the girl child.

Speaking on the occasion, President Mandeep Grewal stated, “Education is the most powerful tool we can provide to shape a better future. On International Literacy Day, Rotary Club Nextgen is proud to support these bright young minds in their journey towards academic and personal success.”

This initiative aligns with Rotary International’s focus area of Basic Education and Literacy, and marks a continued effort by Rotary Club Nextgen Port Blair to make a lasting impact in the lives of the community’s youth.

The event was attended by club members, Balika Niketan staff, and the students themselves, who expressed gratitude and shared their aspirations for the future.
