
Campbell Bay, Sept. 11: Shri Raghunath Kulkarni, BJP National Prabhari for A & N Islands, who was on a visit to these Islands, visited the Great Nicobar Island and interacted with the local BJP workers, PRI Members, General Public on 10th and 11th September 2025. Shri. Anil Kumar Tiwari, State President, Bharatiya Janata Party, A & N Islands, accompanied Shri. Kulkarni during the visit.
On arrival at Campbell Bay, the local BJP leaders and workers accorded warm welcome to the two dignitaries at the Helipad. Soon after their arrival, a grand BJP workers meet was organized at Campbell Bay Community Hall in which more than 500 persons including members from Ex-servicemen community were present.
Shri. Ragunath Kulkarni while addressing the gathering stressed on the need for strengthening the party in Campbell Bay by informing about the good works being done under the current Modi government. He also explained the salient features of the Great Nicobar project which is under the final stage of approval of the government of India. The project includes international standard ports, container terminal yards, Hotels and other infrastructures. He also highlighted about the benefits the local people would derive on the implementation of the project. The said project which is estimated at a cost of more than Rs. 72,000 Lakhs, is not only going to benefit the people of the Islands, but will also boost the economic growth of the country. Numerous international players will also invest in the Great Nicobar Project, Shri. Kulkarni Said. He also asked the local people to defeat the designs of certain anti-national elements, opposition parties, NGO’s and others who do not want this major developmental project to happen.
Shri. Anil Kumar Tiwari, speaking on the occasion talked broadly on the social and developmental works being implemented by the Modi government for
the benefit of poor people. He also informed about the recent reduction in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and explained how the common man is going to be benefitted from the reduced GST. Shri. Tiwari also said that the people residing in Great Nicobar Island happen to be country’s Eyes and Ears in the southernmost tip of Bharat in the context of security concerns.
Shri. Tiwari also called upon the local people to ensure that all the PRI seats is won by BJP in forthcoming local body elections.
Shri. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Zilla Parishad Member and the Ex-Vice President of BJP, Shri. K.C.Murugan, Mandal President, BJP and some of the other local party leaders also addressed the gathering.
After the workers meeting Shri. Ragunath Kulkarni along with the State President and other local leaders visited different villages of Great Nicobar Islands like Govind Nagar, Jogindar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Laxmi Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Fisherman Colony, 1 KM among other places and heard the grievances of the people.
Earlier on 10th of September 2025 Shri. Ragunath Kulkarni and Shri. Anil Kumar Tiwari landed at Car Nicobar during their brief visit and met the local BJP leaders of Car Nicobar.
It is worth mentioning here that Shri. Anil Kumar Tiwari, as the State President of BJP as created history by visiting almost all regions of the Isles, from Diglipur to Campbell Bay. He has expressed confidence that from the enthusiasm of the party workers it seems that the party will reach new heights during his tenure as State President.
After the hectic and fruitful visit Shri. Ragunath Kulkarni and Shri. Anil Tiwari return back to Sri Vijaya Puram today. Shri. Ragunath Kulkarni left for Mumbai today the afternoon.
