Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 18: It has been observed that a considerable number of vehicle owners and driving license holders have not updated their Aadhaar mobile numbers in the Vahan and Sarathi databases, resulting in non-delivery of important service-related alerts, statutory notices, and other official communications.
As per directions from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), NIC has initiated necessary changes in the Transport portal to enable secure entry, storage, and verification of Aadhaar-authenticated mobile numbers.
All the Vehicle owners have been requested to update their Aadhaar-authenticated mobile numbers in the Vahan application to ensure timely receipt of alerts related to PUCC renewal, insurance expiry, e-challans, road tax and other transport services.
Similarly, all Driving License holders have also been requested to update their mobile numbers (if not already done) to receive timely notifications related to driving license. This measure is essential for enhancing citizen services and ensuring effective communication from the Transport Department.
