
Campbell Bay, Sept. 18: With the objective of empowering tribal women by providing them with essential skills for self-reliance and livelihood generation, Industries Department organized a one-month training programme on tailoring & garment making for tribal women of Great Nicobar Islands at the Community Hall, Rajiv Nagar, Campbell Bay from Aug. 6.
Throughout the programme, the participants exhibited remarkable enthusiasm, dedication, and a strong willingness to learn new skills in tailoring and garment making. Out of the 25 enrolled tribal women, 22 trainees successfully completed the training and upgraded their practical knowledge and hands-on experience. This effort is expected to significantly contribute towards empowering tribal women, promoting self-employment, and enhancing their socio-economic well-being.
