
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 5: As part of the forthcoming celebrations of its 68th Raising Day on Oct. 12, the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) organized a Mini Marathon from Chatham Police Station to the Chief Engineer’s Office, APWD today which was flagged off by Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Special Secretary (APWD).
On completion of the Marathon, Shri. T.K. Prijith Rekh, Chief Engineer, APWD, distributed prizes to the winners and congratulated all participants for their active involvement and successful completion of the run.
The event marked a vibrant beginning to the series of activities planned as part of APWD’s Raising Day celebrations, reflecting the unity, dedication, and fitness-oriented spirit of the Department’s workforce. About 150 participants, including technical staff and retired engineers, took part in the event with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
The 68th Raising Day of the Department is being celebrated across all Divisions of APWD throughout the A&N Islands, with various programmes and activities scheduled to commemorate the occasion.
