Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 9: Miss Angel Aleta, represented India at the 3rd Junior Asian Pencak Silat Championship, held from 25th to 30th September, 2025 at the Sher-e-Kashmir Indoor Sports Complex, Srinagar. The championship, which saw participation from 300 athletes across 11 countries, was organised by the Indian Sports Ministry and the Asian Pencak Silat Federation, with the support from the Jammu & Kashmir authorities.
Angel Aleta competed in the Tanding (Fight) category in the 39 kg to 43 kg weight class and won the bronze medal, making her the first to bring home a medal for India from Andaman.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedicated effort of coaches viz. Shihan M. S. Murugan and Er. Logarjun of Pencak Silat Martial Arts.
