Biological Park, Chidiyatapu Conducts Training on Rescue, Safe Handling and Rehabilitation Techniques of Snakes

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 12: The Biological Park, Chidiyatapu organized a Training Programme on “Rescue, Safe Handling and Rehabilitation Techniques of Snakes for College Students” as part of the 71st Wildlife Week Celebration recently. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the unique endemic fauna of the A&N Islands and inspire the younger generation to actively participate in wildlife conservation efforts.

Students from Andaman College actively participated, demonstrating enthusiasm, curiosity, and a deep interest in local wildlife and their habitats. The interactive sessions offered the students hands-on insights into the ecological importance of snakes and provided guidance on safe handling, rescue, and rehabilitation techniques.

The event concluded with closing remarks by the Smti. Meera Nambiar, Deputy Director of Biological Park, Chidiyatapu, who emphasized the importance of collective responsibility and sustained commitment towards protecting endemic species.
