Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 15: In a move to enhance and boost the Justice Delivery System benefitting the litigants, Ld. Advocates, parties to proceedings and the general public at large, an e-Sewa Kendra was inaugurated at District Court Complex, Port Blair today by the Hon’ble Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, Judge, High Court, Calcutta and Hon’ble Zonal Judge, A&N Islands in an auspicious occasion in the presence of Ld. Registrar, High Court, Calcutta, Circuit Bench at Port Blair, the Ld District and Sessions Judge, A&N Islands, other Judicial Officers of this Judgeship, President/ Secretary, Bar Association, Port Blair, representatives of the A&N Administration, APWD and other stakeholders dedicating the facility to the Judiciary of A&N Islands.
The Hon’ble Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya during his inaugural speech, emphasized and elaborately discussed the necessity and importance of setting up of such a facility in the light and spirit of the solemn directions of the Hon’ble Apex Court of India. His Lordship also appealed to the gathering to utilize to its maximum, the benefits and services available with this system and also suggested certain modifications at the Kiosk Centre which was also appreciated by the gathering.
Shri. Sudhir Kumar, District and Sessions Judge, A&N Islands also discussed about the facility making justice more accessible, especially for those who lack digital literacy or access to technology by offering one stop shop for various Court related needs being case information inquiries, e- filing, digital documents, online payment, mobile app assistance, E-Mulakat etc.
The President of the Bar Association, in his address also apprised the gathering about the services available with the e-Sewa Kendra and also emphasized for maximum utilization of the services.
The function ended with the vote of thanks to the dignitaries by Shri. Samrat Roy, Ld. Chief Judicial Magistrate, Port Blair.
