Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 19: Applications have been invited from the eligible and suitable person for selection of one State Haj Inspector (SHI) for Haj-2026 from A&N Islands. Permanent employees of Central/ State Governments, Paramilitary Force, autonomous bodies or PSUs of Central and State Government can apply as SHI and whose age does not exceed 50 years as on 15th October, 2026. Senior Officer like Group “A”/Class I Officers of Central or State Government or equivalent are not eligible. The Haj Committee of India, Mumbai will bear the 50% of the expenditure on SHI including fixed allowance shall be borne by the HCoI and the rest 50% shall be borne by the A&N Islands Sate Haj Committee subject to the receipt of fund from the UT Administration failing which the selected candidate should be ready to bear it from his own funds. Expenditure for attending the Training Programme at Mumbai and to & fro journey from Sri Vijaya Puram to Chennai (Embarkation point) and back has to borne by the selected candidate.
The A&N Islands State Haj Committee will select a suitable candidate in case more than one application are received by due date. Details of SHI can be obtained from HCoI website https://hajcommitte.gov.in. The candidates desirous to be selected as SHI have to fill-up the application Online. A hard copy of the online filled in application form, in original alongwith requisite documents including No Objection Certificate from the Department concerned has to reach the office of the A&N Islands State Haj Committee, Goalghar, Sri Vijaya Puram on or before 3rd November, 2025 positively. As per norms of HCoI, 01 SHI is selected for 150 pilgrims. The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the Computer Based Test (CBT), Interview/Personality Test, and Medical Examination.
