
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 19: As part of the month-long ‘Monsoon Book Reading Festival 2.0’, State Library is organising various competitions on Sundays of October 2025. Accordingly, various competitions such as daily conversation practice in English and fun activities such as Book Relay for Class VI to VIII were organized today. The event aimed to promote reading habits, foster a love for literature and provide a platform for book lovers to come together and share their passion.
Similarly, ‘Seva Pakhwada’ programme was also organised by State Library yesterday with various competitions like drawing competition for Class I to V, elocution & essay competition for Class VI to XII. Students from both Government and Private Schools participated in both the events with great enthusiasm and emerged victorious in the said competitions.
Smt. Archana Singh, Deputy Director Education (Planning) & Nodal Officer (State Library), Directorate of Education graced the occasion as chief guest during the events held on Oct. 18 and interacted with the participants. She urged the participants/students to make full use of the State Library’s facilities, which include a vast collection of children’s books, general knowledge materials, fiction, storybooks, and competitive exam resources, along with a spacious and peaceful reading area. She also encouraged the students to participate in weekly programmes which are being organized for their benefit.
Prizes were distributed to the winning students of ‘Monsoon Book Reading’ Festival 2.0 as a token of appreciation and motivation. Further, the winners of ‘Seva Pakhwada’ will be felicitated during the closing ceremony to be held on Oct. 26. The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri. Anbarasan, In-Charge State Library.
