Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 28: The Chief Electoral Officer, A&N Islands, Shri L. Kumar, IAS, convened a meeting with all recognized Political Parties today in the Mini Conference Hall, Secretariat along with the DEO, South Andaman, Joint CEO, Dy. CEO, and IT Team.
During the meeting, the CEO informed that the Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) during the press conference held on 27.10.2025. SIR has been successfully completed in Bihar with zero appeals and the SIR for 12 States/UTs including Andaman & Nicobar Islands will commence from 28.10.2025.
The CEO highlighted that the last SIR in the Union Territory was conducted in 2002. He further stated that the election machinery is fully prepared to complete the exercise as per the ECI schedule.

2. Publication of Draft Electoral Rolls: 09th December, 2025
3. Claims & Objection Period: 09th December, 2025 to 08th January, 2026
4. Notice Phase (Hearing & Verification): 09th December, 2025 to 31st January, 2026
5. Publication Final Electoral Rolls: 07th February, 2026
The CEO briefed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) schedule and its importance through a presentation.
The CEO requested all recognized Political Parties in the A&N Islands to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to coordinate with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the SIR process and assist electors in verifying and linking their names or their relatives’ names from the last SIR held in 2002 through the online: https://voters.eci.gov.in. A live demonstration was also conducted during the meeting.
The CEO also appealed to all Political Parties and electors of the A&N Islands to extend full cooperation to the BLOs. BLOs will make visit house-to-house and distribute pre-printed Enumeration Forms in duplicate. Electors are requested to provide all required details and keep a recent colour passport-size photograph ready. The BLOs will revisit the households to collect the completed Enumeration forms. The House-to-House enumeration will be carried out from 04th November to 04th December, 2025.
