Wimberlygunj, Oct. 30: The Wimberlygunj Educational Zone organized the 1st Zonal Annual Athletic Meet & CwSN Event 2025 (Under-17 Boys & Girls) from 29th to 30th October 2025 at the Mini Stadium, Wimberlygunj. Shri Ali Mumtaz, Executive Engineer, RCD, Wimberlygunj, officially declared the meet open as the chief guest in the presence of the guest of honour, Shri K. Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Wimberlygunj.
More than 700 students from various schools across the Wimberlygunj Zone actively participated and showcased their remarkable athletic skills. A wide range of athletic events were conducted for both general students and Children with Special Needs (CwSN) over the two days, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship, inclusivity, and teamwork among all participants.
In the championship results, Kr. M. Mohammed Sinan from St. Xavier Sr. Sec. School, Mannarghat, bagged the individual championship (Boys) title. Kumari Varsha Lakra from GMSSS Ferrargunj and Kumari K. Jyothi from GSSS Mannarghat jointly shared the individual championship (Girls) title. The overall championship Trophy was secured by PM SHRI GSSS Bambooflat.
Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, Deputy Director of Education (Academic), as the chief guest declared the meet closed in the presence of the guest of honour, Shri P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Kanyapuram.
While addressing the gathering, Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, DDE (Acad.), congratulated all the winners and participants for their outstanding performances and extended his best wishes to them for the upcoming State School Games.
