
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 30: A workshop on Health & Sanitation was conducted by State Hub for Empowerment of Women, Directorate of Social Welfare with the active participation of around 62 participants, including ASHA workers and sanitary workers. The program aimed to promote awareness on health & practices related to maintaining good hygiene overall well-being.
The session started with informative lecture by Shri P. Yusuf, Heath Educator from Health Department who highlighted the importance of water sanitation. Dr. Shwetha Shameer GDMO, RBSK from DHS addressed the gathering on the significance of maintaining personal and community hygiene for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Nitu Sindhu, State Coordinator (SHEW) emphasized the interconnection between physical, mental and social well -being and also discussed the importance of food sanitation in maintaining good health. Further, Smt. Hemlatha, Gender Specialist sensitized the participants on the provisions of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH Act), the role of One Stop Centre (OSC) and the services of the Women Helpline (WHL-181).
