Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 31: Following the recent revisions introduced under GST 2.0, the GST Department, A&N Islands, has observed that several business establishments continue to operate without fully adhering to the updated GST rates, regulations and exemptions, despite adequate time having been provided for transition.

During these inspections, on-the-spot penalties were levied in cases where irregularities or non-compliance were detected and an amount of Rs. 1,20,000/- was remitted to Government account.

This inspection drive will be continued and intensified in the coming days to ensure strict enforcement of the revised GST provisions and to safeguard the interests of consumers, ensuring they receive the rightful benefits of the new rate structure.

All business entities have been reminded that compliance with GST laws and notifications is mandatory, and any deviation or non-compliance will attract penal action as prescribed under the GST Act.

For any grievances, complaints regarding non-compliance, or for clarifications related to GST 2.0 rates and exemptions in the Union Territory of A&N Islands, businesses and residents may reach out to the Department via WhatsApp at 9595359698.
