Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 2: As part of observance of the International Year of Cooperatives and to promote environmental sustainability, a tree plantation campaign was organized on Oct. 31 at PM Shri Govt. Senior Secondary School, Garacharma by ARCS-IV Circle in collaboration with the Samudrika Labour Cooperative Society Ltd., Sri Vijaya Puram.
The programme was graced by Smt. Jyothi, Principal, PM Shri GSSS, Garacharma of the School and Shri Bashir Ahmed, Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies along with Inspectors (Urban). Teachers and students of the school participated enthusiastically, reflecting strong community engagement and support toward environmental conservation.
Saplings were planted within the school premises, symbolising a shared commitment to environmental protection and a greener future. The participation of school students added youthful energy and encouraged a culture of environmental responsibility from an early age.
This initiative highlights the ongoing efforts of the Cooperative Department in contributing to sustainable development, community welfare and environmental stewardship in alignment with the objectives of the International Year of Cooperatives.
