
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 4: During the Senior Officers’ Meeting held today, the Chief Secretary, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS, released a Special Edition Newsletter on India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025, held recently in Mumbai.
The publication, brought out by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, captures the Islands’ strong participation at the National event, highlighting key discussions, flagship projects, and investment opportunities in ports, shipping, tourism, and fisheries.
Releasing the newsletter, the Chief Secretary emphasized the strategic importance of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in advancing India’s maritime domain. He urged all Departments to align local initiatives with emerging national maritime priorities under the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
The newsletter documents major initiatives of the Administration showcased during IMW 2025, including the Great Nicobar Island Project, the proposed Ship Repair Hub at Diglipur, the Integrated Fishing Harbour at Mayabunder, game fishing and plans to develop the Islands as a cruise and diving tourism destination.
The publication reflects the Administration’s ongoing commitment to strengthen maritime infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and position the Andaman & Nicobar Islands as India’s Eastern Maritime Hub, contributing significantly to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
