One Stop Centre Organises Awareness Programme on Women Related Schemes & Laws and Cyber Laws

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 24: The One Stop Centre, Directorate of Social Welfare, A & N Administration in collaboration with the District Hub for Empowerment of Women, organized an Awareness Programme on Women Related Schemes & Laws, and Cyber Laws at Govt. Tagore College.

Ms Rukhsar Rahim, Para Legal Lawyer, One Stop Centre, briefed the participants about the One Stop Centre Scheme, its services, and the importance of understanding Cyber Laws in today’s digital environment.

During the session, the Resource Person shared the helpline number for Cybercrime complaints – 1930. Smt. Neela Baidya, Central Administrator, One Stop Centre briefed the participants on the services of One Stop Centre scheme under the Directorate of Social Welfare. The scheme provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence, offering services such as medical, legal, police assistance, psychological and counseling support and a minimum of 5 days of temporary shelter. These services are available both in private and public spaces, under a single roof. She also shared the address and Contact Numbers of One Stop Centre.

The Call Operator of the Women Helpline (WHL) provided information on Women Helpline 181, Child Helpline 1098, and key provisions of the POCSO Act, ensuring safety and protection of children from sexual offences.
