TB Screening and Outreach Camp Organised at Netaji Nagar in LA

Hut Bay, Nov. 24: As part of the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the District Administration, South Andaman, through the District Health Society (South Andaman) and in coordination with the Directorate of Health Services, organized a TB Screening and Outreach Camp today at the Community Hall, Netaji Nagar, Hut Bay, Little Andaman.

The camp witnessed active participation from the community. Mobile digital X-ray services were deployed to provide on-the-spot chest X-rays, enabling the early detection of tuberculosis. Symptomatic individuals were thoroughly screened, counselled, and had sputum samples collected for confirmatory testing.

PHC/ AAM Hut Bay also arranged an ambulance for elderly citizens, ensuring they could comfortably reach the venue and avail the screening services.

Continuing the momentum, similar outreach and screening camps are scheduled on Nov. 25 at HWC Ongi Tikrey and Nov. 26 at Community Hall, R.K. Pur. These intensified efforts will also be extended to remote and tribal regions of the Islands, ensuring that no one is left behind in the national mission to eliminate tuberculosis.

The general public have been urged to actively participate in these community-level camps and support early detection and timely treatment of TB.
