Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 25: The District Industries Centre, Department of Industries will be organizing a number of ‘Awareness cum Motivational Programmes’ on Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other Govt. Sponsored schemes and benefits implemented by the Department. The Programme will be organized in association with Tribal Council, Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, SBI, ANSCB, NYK and NGOs. The Programme is scheduled to be organized from the end of 4th week of November, 2025 onwards at different parts of Nancowry Group of Islands.
The objectives of the Programme is to disseminate information to the unemployed individuals for taking up self-employment activities through different schemes implemented by different line departments including PMEGP Scheme.
The Awareness Programme will be followed by the hands-on guidance to the rural entrepreneurs in submission of applications under different schemes along with mandatory documentation. The filled in applications will be collected on the spot for uploading the same in the online PMEGP Portal and which shall be forwarded online to the opted banks for financial assistance under PMEGP Scheme after due verification and scrutiny.
All the aspiring unemployed individuals of Nancowry Group of Islands, interested in setting up their self-employment ventures under Manufacturing/Service/Trading sector by availing finance under PMEGP Scheme are requested to attend the awareness programme along with necessary documents such as Aadhaar Card, Local certificate, Category Certificate, Educational Qualification Certificate etc.
