Students from GSS Pinakinagar Visit ICAR-KVK, North & Middle Andaman on Exposure Visit

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 25: A group of students from GSS Pinakinagar visited ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), North & Middle Andaman on 25thNovember 2025 as part of an educational excursion/study trip to gain the practical knowledge in the field of agriculture.

At the outset, Mr. Rakesh Dawar, SMS (Agronomy), welcomed the students and introduced them to various activities and facilities of the KVK, including crop demonstrations, fisheries, farm mechanization, integrated farming systems, and vermicomposting units. They also learned about modern agricultural practices, climate-resilient technologies, and the importance of sustainable farming for ensuring food and nutritional security.

Mr. Yatharth Sharma SMS (Home Science), elaborated the students about the mandate, roleof KVK in disseminating the latest technologies to the farming communities, and major activities of the KVK, along with various welfare programmes implemented for the benefit of farmers.Further, he also highlighted aboutthe career opportunities in agriculture and allied sciences, the role of science and technology in farming, and the contribution of KVKs in rural development. The visit aimed to inspire young minds towards agriculture and allied sectors, fostering awareness about innovation and skill development in farming

The program was organized under the overall guidance of Dr. Jai Sunder, Director (Act.), ICAR-CIARI, Sri Vijayapuram. A total of 65 students and teachers participated in the visit.
