Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov. 25: To mark the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women and to raise awareness about Gender Based Violence, a two-day (25th & 26th Nov. 2025) solo exhibition was inaugured today at Megapode Nest Resort titled ‘Echoes of Courage – Art for Change’. The Exhibition by Artist Dhiraj Khandelwal from Rajasthan was inaugurated by the Secretary Art & Culture, Ms. Jyoti Kumari IAS this afternoon.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Jyoti Kumari said, “Some things are done better by changing the culture and norms of the society than by Laws and Institutions like Police. This is a current shift done by art and artists which will go a long way in bringing a sustainable change”.
The theme of today’s programme is Echoes of Courage – Art for Change, which we see in many forms across generations. It also becomes more and more subtle as society grows and changes, she expressed.
“We have laws against dowry, sexual harassment, which are necessary to guide the society in a certain direction. There are some things which are not to be tolerated by the society. But when the culture of the society changes, which does and it does very subtly”, added the Secretary Art & Culture.
The Secretary expressed her happiness that such an art exhibition is happening in Sri Vijaya Puram and complimented the Artist Dhiraj Khandelwal for his patience and painstaking effort to project the journey of women.
