Ferrargunj, Nov. 27: The Block Development Office, Ferrargunj organized a Block Level Training Programme on Addressing Child Needs through Bal Sabha today at the CMTC Building, Ferrargunj. The programme witnessed the participation of 69 members, including Panchayat functionaries, members of the Child Protection Committee, and students.
Welcoming the gathering, Smti. Lalita Tigga, Block Development Officer, Ferrargunj, emphasised on the importance of strengthening community-based child protection systems. The first technical session was conducted by Smti. Suman Shailaja Barla, Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU).
An activity-based learning session was facilitated by Ms. Saakshi Saha, BPM, during which participants took part in a communication and teamwork exercise. Prizes were distributed to the winning team to encourage active participation.
This was followed by a session by Smti. Agnes, SI, PS Ograbrej, who sensitised participants on Cyber Crime and provisions of the POCSO Act, highlighting safety measures and legal safeguards for children.
An interactive session was conducted by Smti. Sandhya, Legal-cum-Probation Officer, DCPU, who explained child-related legislations including the Child Marriage Act and the POCSO Act, using practical, real-time examples for better understanding.
