Car Nicobar, Dec. 1: On 26/11/2025, acting on credible information, a raiding team headed by SI J.R. Krishna, In-Charge PS Car Nicobar, along with staff of Police Station Car Nicobar conducted a swift and significant anti-narcotics raid, leading to the seizure of 76.6 grams of Methamphetamine (commercial quantity) from the residence of a local resident in Big Lapathy Village, Car Nicobar. The operation was carried out under the direction of Shri Solomon Samuel, SDPO, Car Nicobar (DANIPS).
Upon this, a case was registered under Section 22(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985, against the accused person Shri Henry Sanih (25), R/o Big Lapathy Village, who was arrested on the spot. During preliminary questioning, he admitted to having found the contraband on the Big Lapathy sea shore and intended to sell it for profit.
The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Shri Rahul L. Nair, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District. This successful seizure highlights the steadfast commitment of Nicobar District Police to combating illegal drug activities and ensuring community safety. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the contraband and any associated networks.
The general public is once again urged to immediately hand over any suspicious items found along the seashore and to surrender any contraband recovered from the sea at Police Station Car Nicobar.
