Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 8: The Pay & Accounts Organization of the A&N Administration celebrated 8th A&N Civil Accounts Day with enthusiasm at TGCE Auditorium. The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Dr. Aman Gupta, Secretary (Finance) alongwith Dr. Prijith Rekh, Chief Engineer (APWD), Shri S Dasgupta, Director, Accounts & Budget.
A major highlight of the function was the launch of the e-Sankalan Mobile App by Secretary (Finance), Dr. Aman Gupta. Developed with technical support from SOVTECH, e-Sankalan is a comprehensive digital repository of Rule Books, Manuals, Office Memoranda, Circulars etc of the Government of India and the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. The platform aims to reduce dependence on bulky guard files, enabling quick and seamless access to updated instructions and thus enhancing the efficiency of accounts personnel. The e-Sankalan mobile app is available for download in the Google Play Store and can also be downloaded directly from the web portal www.esankalan.andamannicobar.gov.in.The celebration also featured an engaging cultural programme presented by staff members and their children, which added colour to the event and received wide appreciation.
The Secretary (Finance) in his address appreciated the enthusiastic celebration of the event, including the conduct of various sporting activities. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Prijith Rekh, Chief Engineer, APWD complimented the impressive talent pool within the Accounts Cadre, visible both in sports and cultural performance. He acknowledged their vital contribution to the Administration in ensuring financial accountability. He also highlighted the role of the Accounts Cadre in facilitating the smooth implementation of Government schemes, projects and works while working in close coordination with other cadres of the Administration.
Earlier, Shri Dasgupta, Director (Accounts & Budget), delivered the welcome address and highlighted the significance of Civil Accounts Day for the A&N Accounts Cadre, particularly its role in strengthening financial governance and enhancing administrative efficiency.
The event concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Shri Shadab Rasheed, President, Staff Council.
