Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 9: Under the framework of the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA), a capacity-building programme on the theme “Building Women’s Leadership in Rural Governance: Training on Gram Sabha Participation and Decision Making” was conducted by the CD Block Prothrapur today wherein the Women Elected Representatives and Panchayat Secretaries of the Gram Panchayat under the jurisdiction of CD Block Prothrapur along with members of Self Help Groups of NRLM participated. The programme was organized with the aim of strengthening women’s knowledge, confidence, and active participation in local self-governance.
The programme began with an introductory address by Smt. Gurjeet Kaur, Block Development Officer (BDO), Prothrapur, who highlighted the importance of empowering women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and ensuring their meaningful involvement in Gram Sabha processes.
This was followed by a detailed presentation by Smti. Vijaya, Domain Expert, who spoke extensively on various aspects related to women’s empowerment in local governance.
