Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 9: The 3X3 Open Basketball Championship for Men and Women, organised by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Andaman & Nicobar Administration under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – 2025, concluded today at the Basketball Court, Netaji Sports Complex, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The tournament was inaugurated on Dec. 6 by the chief guest, Ms. Priyanka Kumari, Additional District Magistrate (SA) in the presence of Shri Vikram Singh, Director (Sports) as the guest of honour. The dignitaries highlighted the importance of sports in promoting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle among youth.
In this competition, a total 10 teams participated in the Men’s category and 5 teams in the Women’s category. In the final match of Men’s category, team KEMS defeated Andaman Warriors to claim the Men’s Championship title by 21-15, while in the final match of Women’s category, Women Team Defence Civil defeated Rising Star to clinch the Women’s Championship by 12-10.
The winning trophy and medals were distributed by Shri. Vikram Singh, Director (Sports) who congratulated the champions and appreciated the efforts of all participating teams.
