Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 15: To carry out emergency repair works onboard, the vessel MV Lapathy presently providing service between Chatham & Bambooflat will be withdrawn from vehicle ferry service on Dec. 16 onwards.
However, all out efforts are being made by the Directorate of Shipping Services to rectify the defects and to resume the service at the earliest on top priority. It is therefore, the general public have been informed that only one vessel will be carrying out the vehicle ferry services between Chatham & Bambooflat. The commuters have been requested to cooperate with the Directorate.
