Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 15: The Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS), A&N Administration has announced the scheduling of MV Swaraj Dweep for a special voyage to Barren Island on Dec. 31 on the eve of the New Year. Planned as a signature New Year sailing, the voyage offers passengers a rare opportunity to welcome the New Year amidst the open seas of the Andaman, with breathtaking views of Barren Island, the only active volcano in the Indian sub-continent. As the year turns at sea, passengers will witness a unique blend of natural wonder, maritime adventure and festive spirit, making this voyage a truly memorable experience.
MV Swaraj Dweep, with a carrying capacity of 1,200 passengers, will undertake this exclusive round sea voyage as part of the New Year celebrations, reaffirming DSS’s commitment to promote safe, scenic and experiential maritime travel in the Islands.

• Departure: Haddo Wharf, Sri Vijaya Puram – 2100 Hrs on 31.12.2025
• Arrival: Barren Island vicinity – Early morning of 01.01.2026
• Departure from Barren Island vicinity: 0800 Hrs
• Arrival at Sri Vijaya Puram: Approximately 1400 Hrs
Fare Structure
• Coral Suite (Deluxe Class): Rs. 8,310/- per head
• Reef Suite (First Class): Rs. 6,340/- per head
•Island Breeze (Second Class): Rs. 4,290/- per head
•Lagoon (Bunk Class): Rs. 3,180/- per head
Onboard Catering
Food shall be provided to the travellers on board during the voyage to Barren Island (i.e. Tea, Breakfast & Lunch), as per the rates prescribed under the existing canteen contract agreement. Passengers have been required to purchase the food coupon from the reception counter after boarding the vessel.
