
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 19: The 10th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of CITU will be held at Port Blair on 20th and 21st December, 2025. The Conference will begin with the Open Session at Tiranga Park in the evening of 20th December, 2025. A massive procession will take out from Delanipur junction at 4 p.m on 20th December, 2025 which will converge into a public meeting at 4.45 p.m. at Tiranga Park. Dr K. Hemalata, All India President of CITU will inaugurate the Open Session.
The Delegate Session of the Conference will begin at Kerala Samajam Hall, Phoenix Bay Port Blair at 9.30 a.m on 21st December, 2025. The venue of the Conference has been named after late Basudeb Acharia, former All India Vice President of CITU while the Manch of the Conference has been named after late M. Boominathan, former leader of CITU in the islands. About 150 Delegates and Observers from different parts of the union territory representing a number of trade unions will attend the Delegate Session. General Secretary, State Committee will present the report on the functioning of CITU for the last 3 years while the Treasurer will present the Audited Accounts. Delegates will participate in the discussion on the Report and Audited Accounts. The 10th State Conference is being held after 3 years of the last Conference held in November, 2022.
The Delegate Session is expected to discuss various demands of the working class and adopt resolutions on it. The new State Committee of the CITU will also be elected in the Delegate Session.
Dr K. Hemalata is reaching Port Blair from mainland on 20th December, 2025 to attend the State Conference.
