Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 29: On the 28th of December,2025, the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) observed the 140th Foundation Day of the Indian National Congress at the premises of the Congress Office, Port Blair.
The programme commenced with a Flag hoisting ceremony, during which ANTCC President Shri Rangalal Halder hoisted the Congress flag with great enthusiasm, marking the historic occasion.
Subsequently, a programme was organised in the Conference Hall of the Congress Office, where several senior leaders addressed the gathering. The speakers included ANTCC President Shri Rangalal Halder, District President Shri John Robert Babu, ANTCC Spokesperson Shri Tamil Selvan, Mahila Congress President Smt. Zubaida Begum, Congress Seva Dal Chief Organizer Shri T. Wajith, City Congress President Shri Mohd. Zubair, Unorganised Workers and Employees Congress Chairman Shri Tejashwara Rao, and Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan Chairman Shri O. Bashir.
The leaders highlighted the rich legacy of the Indian National Congress, its contributions to the freedom struggle, and its continued commitment to safeguarding constitutional values, democracy, and the rights of the people, which are being continuously undermined by the BJP Government. After the programme, sweets were distributed among the participants to mark the celebratory occasion.
Many Senior Leaders, Active Party Leaders & Workers, Block Presidents, Mahila Congress Leaders, Frontal Organizations Leaders, SVPMC Councilors were present on this occasion.
