
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 29: The District /State-Level Exhibition and Project Competition (2024–25) under the INSPIRE Awards–MANAK scheme was organised by the Science Wing of the Directorate of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Administration today at the Auditorium of Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Sri Vijaya Puram.
A total of 17 student participants, including online participants from Government Senior Secondary School, Malacca, and Government Senior Secondary School, Vijay Nagar, participated in the competition.
Shri Gyan Sheel Dubey, Head of Office, Directorate Education, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he inspired the students by emphasizing that the INSPIRE–MANAK Award is a powerful national platform through which students can take their local, need-based innovative ideas to the national level. Shri Ram Pravesh, Deputy Director Education (Science), delivered the welcome address, wherein he elaborated on the objectives of the INSPIRE–MANAK Scheme, its registration process, and the evaluation methodology, motivating students to pursue innovation with scientific temperament and societal relevance.
The projects were evaluated by Ms. Sandhya Tiwari, Online Evaluator from the National Innovation Foundation (NIF), New Delhi, along with Shri Manu Vasistha, Senior Associate Professor, DBRAIT; Ms. Pragya, Guest Faculty, TGCE; and Shri Raj Babu, Technician, Department of Science and Technology. The evaluators also shared their valuable feedback and suggestions with the participating students.
In the competition, Kumari Avanita A of PM SHRI Govt. Senior Secondary School, Hut Bay secured the First Prize for her project “Manual Rope Making Machine.” The Second Prize was secured by Kumari Barsa Biswas of Govt. Middle School, Neil 5, for her project “Automatic Indelible Ink Applier.” The Third Prize was awarded to Kumari Shalini of Govt. Model Senior Secondary School, Sita Nagar, Diglipur, for her innovative idea titled “Remote Controlled Tubelight Installation Mechanism.” Consolation prizes were awarded to Kumar Rohit Sikder of Govt. Secondary School, Madhupur-1, and Kumar Nasredh Ekka of Govt. Senior Secondary School, Subhashgram.
The top five innovative projects from the competition have been nominated for the National Level under the INSPIRE–MANAK Award Scheme.
During the prize distribution ceremony, Shri. Ram Pravesh, Deputy Director Education (Science), graced the occasion and distributed prizes to the winners and participation certificates.
