Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 18: The Island Track Cycling Team delivered an impressive performance at the 69th National School Track Cycling Championship, held at the Sido Kanhu Velodrome, Ranchi, from 13th to 17th January 2026.
On the final day of the championship, the U-17 Boys team, comprising Kingdom Bright, Saw Zekariah, Lionald Becker, and Messi Kartson, secured a silver medal in the Team Sprint event. The U-17 Girls team, represented by Rosy Violet, I.S. Bridney, Namita Violet, and Anne Minj, also clinched a silver medal in the same event.
Overall, the Island team earned a total of Six Medals, including One Gold, Three Silver, and Two Bronze Medals. In addition, the team achieved the Overall Runners-Up position in the Girls U-17 category and Overall Second Runners-Up in the U-17 Boys category.
In recognition of her outstanding performance at the 69th SGFI Track Cycling Championship, Ms. Namita Violet has been selected for the India Camp at New Delhi in preparation for forthcoming International events with coach.
