Rotary Club Conducts Awareness Programme cum Dental Check-up Camp at CIARI

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 20: Rotary Club, Port Blair in collaboration with Dinesh Dental Clinic, Goalghar and CIARI Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) organized an awareness programme on Oral Health and Dental check-up camp on January 20, 2026 at the Bathu Basti Campus of ICAR-CIARI. 

During the inaugural programme, Dr. Jai Sunder, Director (A), ICAR-CIARI highlighted the importance of social welfare activities for overall development of the society and role of Rotary Clubs in the same. He stressed upon need for regular camps on various healthcare aspects, which could be beneficial to the permanent as well as contractual employees of the organization.

Shri. S.P. Deepak Kumar, President, Rotary Club of Port Blair, explained about various activities of the club that have been completed in the recent past in different parts of the islands. He expressed happiness that first such health camp is being organized for the benefit of the CIARI employees.

Dr. Dinesh also spoke on the occasion and assured that societal development programmes on various aspects would be conducted by the Club in the future as well. Shri. Dinakaran, Former President, Rotary Club also participated in the programme and took part in discussions with the CIARI scientists. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Pooja Bohra, Senior Scientist and General Secretary, CIARIEWA, which benefitted about 55 staff of the institute. During the camp, consultation services were provided by Dr. Dinesh, Dental Surgeon and Dr. Snehesh, Periodontist & Implantologist, while crucial medicines and other aids were also provided to the attendees.
