Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan 20: As part of the week-long campaign by the Port Blair City Area Committee of CPI (M) on the burning issues of the people, CPI (M) leaders and workers conducted corner meetings on 19th and 20th January 2026 at various parts of Haddo and Prem Nagar.
Addressing the corner meetings, CPI (M) leaders criticized the Modi government at the centre and A & N Administration for the frequent power cuts in Port Blair and nearby areas, rising prices and growing unemployment, etc. They also criticized the BJP-controlled Municipal Council for its failure to provide sufficient drinking water, pathetic condition of urban roads and footpaths, foul-smelling drinages and garbage piled up town.
The meetings were addressed by D. Ayyappan, State Secretary, P. Sathyapal, Secretary, Port Blair City Area Committee, SP Kalairajan, SOC Member and KG Samkutty, Haddo Branch Secretary.
