Badakhana Organised at Police Lines to Mark Grand Culmination of the 74th Andaman & Nicobar Police Raising Day Celebrations

Sri Vijaya Puram, Jan. 23: A spectacular cultural evening featuring the traditional Badakhana was organized yesterday evening at the Police Lines, marking the grand culmination of the 74th Andaman & Nicobar Police Raising Day celebrations. The event unfolded as a vibrant celebration of talent, unity, and cultural harmony, filling the venue with colour, enthusiasm, and festive fervour.

The cultural programme showcased a rich and engaging repertoire of performances by A&N Police personnel. The evening commenced with an auspicious Ganesh Vandana dance performed by a young girl, setting a divine and energetic tone for the programme. This was followed by entertaining comedy skits woven with meaningful social messages and lawful action, soulful solo song and dance performances, and a powerful cultural drama that deeply resonated with the audience.

The spirited performance by the A&N Police Brass Band Team, whose musical excellence drew resounding applause. The audience was further captivated by an evocative Sufi medley and vibrant group dance performances by police teams, beautifully reflecting the rich cultural diversity and artistic excellence within the force.

The function was graced by Shri Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, along with senior officers. The DGP lauded the dedication, discipline, and creative spirit displayed by the performers and appreciated the collective efforts of all participants and organizers. He emphasized that such cultural engagements play a vital role in boosting morale, fostering teamwork, and nurturing a strong sense of belonging within the force.

Addressing the gathering, the DGP announced several significant welfare initiatives for police personnel, including the conferment of promotional ranks to lower-rank personnel upon completion of 15 and 25 years of service, clearance of pending welfare-related commitments, continued excellence in coastal security initiatives, and ongoing recruitment efforts to further strengthen the police force. He also commended the exemplary contributions and unwavering commitment of A&N Police personnel towards national service and internal security.
